CHLOÉ

Chloé Spring 19 was one of my favorite collections of the season. Natacha Ramsay-Levi, the new Creative head, at Chloé put on such a beautiful show that had me traveling to Ibiza and Morocco. The collection was described as hippie modernism and New Age boho. It was comprised of scarf prints: on head-to-toe separates, on a minidress. Textured knits and cotton crochet also played a big part in the collection as well. The dense chenille-like knit used for a clingy jumpsuits had ceramics patterns; the silk-viscose blend woven into tight plissés on a coat boasted a Persian rug motif. If the bags looked like they were going to work and the clothes said vacation, that seemed to be intentional. Top handle bags, which are also in this season, brought interest and contradictory to the free spirited looks. Ramsay-Levi said that she wanted to bring a holiday spirit into our day-to-day lives. She did that most with the jewelry; layered together, the sculptural earrings, pendant necklaces, and cuffs. This show was the perfect combination of whimsical yet cleaned up aspects that keeps fashion fun.
